I should write a book about this adventure...except for the fact that I wasn't there. This was a Boedy Daddy day. If you know Boedy, you know he is obsessed with the color red- ANYTHING red he loves. He also loves trains. Everything on that ground that has lines is a train track to him- tire tracks, parking lines, tile floors, window tracks, carpet lines, etc. Well, one Saturday, Toby took Boedy to downtown San Diego, as we call "The City," to ride the red train. We've been downtown a few times and Boedy always gets so excited when we see the red tram go by, but he has never been on it. So, to prepare for his trip, he wore his red pants, red shirt, and red pullover fleece. And, of course, he brought his little pal Freddie the frog. Boedy rode the red train with his dad several times, got lunch at Horton Plaza (don't you love the picture where Boedy is eating his corn dog while Freddie plays dead on the table in front? ), and got to get a bag of candy treats at the Old time candy store in Old Town. He had a blast and I am sure, no wait, I am POSITIVE he will never forget that day. In fact, the other day when he told me at breakfast time, "Hey mom, since you did such a good job getting a good sleep last night, I'm going to take you to my work today and let you ride the red trains." Well, then it got funnier- Boedy proceeded to get dressed for the day. He put on his "work shirt" and wanted to wear his church pants since he sees dad dress up for work. After he got dressed, he went into the bathroom to brush his hair and put on chapstick (not a daily routine). He sat down on the toilet to do this, however he didn't realize that the toilet lid was open and he fell in. I turned around when he started screaming to find him in a sandwich position with his backside deep in the water and his legs sticking out. He was very upset because his work shirt got wet too. He refused to change for a while because he thought "people" at work would notice that he did not have his right work shirt on. Anyways it made me laugh and realize how serious he is about pretending!
